Product Empties #1

I spend more time watching beauty and bookish videos on YouTube than I care to admit. One of my favorite things to watch are the so called empties. Not only is it fascinating what products people go through, but I also think they're much more informative and reliable than the usual reviews (I still watch and read ton of those, though). Following is my take on the idea, in writing.

Charles Worthington Split Ends Binder, Catwalk by TII Straight collection, Sanctuary Spa Pore refining toner, No.7 Beautifully Matte foundation, product empties

1. Charles Worthington Lodon Strength & Repair Split Ends Binder - I don't think it's possible to bind split ends back together and repair them but I still loved this product nonetheless. Applying it to the ends of my hair before blow-drying tamed the frizz, made them feel and look soft and silky and strengthened them . I don't have a huge problem with split ends and breakage but was nicely surprised to see a difference in my hair using this product. Definitely going to repurchase.

2. Catwalk Straight Collection Sleek Mystique Shampoo and Conditioner by TIGI - I love every TIGI product I've tried and this shampoo and conditioner set were no exclusion. They were great especially during the summer. I found that my hair was cleaned without being stripped and conditioned without it feeling oily afterwards. As far as keeping my hair straight goes, I found it tamed and sleek, easier to straighten. With the arrival of the colder weather my hair got a bit dryer and needed more moisture so I switched to another TIGI set but I would still repurchase this when the temperatures rise.

3. Sanctuary Spa Pore Refining Toner - Sanctuary Spa are one of my favorite drugstore skincare brands and I really enjoy the 5 Minute Thermal Detox face mask and the Exfoliating Pore Refiner from the same line. Maybe that's the reason I was slightly disappointed with the toner. There was nothing wrong with it - it smelled nice, didn't strip or brake out my skin, it felt nice and refreshing. I just didn't see much of a difference in the quality or appearance of my skin after going through the whole product using it morning and evening. I wouldn't go out of my way to repurchase but if I am ever in need of a basic toner, this is definitely one I'd consider.

4. No.7 Beautifully Matte Foundation - If only my skin loved this product as much as I did I'd probably keep repurchasing until it was discontinued. The foundation provides great medium to full coverage and is really, really matifying. It kept my face mat for hours on end, which is hard to find in a product. However, my sensitive skin apparently didn't enjoy it very much although it's hypo-allergenic. In the end of the day some areas of my face were visibly irritated and unhappy so I had to switch to a more natural product I am currently trying.
