Beauty Review: St. Kitts Herbery Summer Rose Range
Last week I promised that since I am in London again I'd be featuring more local brands and I am starting today. One of the companies I wanted to talk to you about is St. Kitts Herbery. Based in Cornwall, it was founded by Susan & Paul Johnson in 2001 with £2000, a polytunnel and a few packs of seeds.
Initially the products were made in the kitchen and sold in the shop in the front lounge of the house. They included everything herb-related - craft items, cards, toiletries, etc. Today, 13 years later St. Kitts Herbery offers toiletries, skincare and perfumes in eight different scents. On their website you can also find essential, fragrance and base oils, and of course their food hall which includes herb chocolates, jams and dried herbs and mixes all locally sourced and produced and very reasonably priced.
Every morning after I take a shower I use the moisturizing lotion and layer it on top with the perfume to feel the scent lingering on my skin throughout the day. I freshen up the perfume once or twice during the day because I enjoy being able to smell it myself. The beautiful clean bottle is somewhat reminiscent of the Chanel No.5 one and I love the way it looks on my vanity.
The moisturizing lotion is perfect for the warm summer months because it's not too thick and doesn't leave a sticky residue on the skin. It feels very luxurious and soaks quickly into the skin leaving it soft and calm. The fact that I don't have to wait for ages before I get dressed is a bonus.
I give these products five out of five stars and can't wait to try more scents and maybe even the chocolates! If you like natural scents, locally sourced and produced goodies and a personal approach I strongly recommend you head over to the St. Kitts Herbery website right now.
