Homemade: Heart-shaped waffles made with love

Everyone at home adores Sunday morning. Coffee in pajamas, broaching breakfast and a favorite magazine are the beginning of a relaxing day. It's wonderful to dedicate the entire day to my loved ones without checking the clock even once. I wish there were at least two Sundays in a week. 

This morning I decided to make waffles. I think they are the perfect company to a cup of aromatic coffee. You can find many recipes for waffles. I will share mine with you. I've tried to make it healthy, easy and quick.

All you need are a couple of minutes and ...


2 Eggs
150 ml Cold milk
50 ml Water
Pinch of Salt
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 Vanilla
2 - 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil or Melted Butter
2 - 3 tbsp Brown Sugar
Flour (I use wheat flour) Add little by little until you have thicker pancake mix

I turn on the waffle maker first to preheat it. I don't like loud noises to disturb the laid back Sunday morning so I use a manual mixer (shaker) to make the mix. 

The dough is enough for about 10 waffles. I don't make them very thick and bake them to a gold caramel color. Once ready, I let the waffles cool down on a grid to keep them crispy.

I garnish them with homemade jam and honey. If you love the combination of salty and sweet I recommend Brie or Emmental  cheese, berry jam and walnuts.
