Christmas is a time of magic, magic that pours out of our hearts to enchant the world. Miracles don't just occur out of thin air, we make them happen. You and I. Yes, you. You can change the world and make it a better place, you can create happiness and spread love every single day.
Christmas is a time of giving. This year you can give bliss not only to your loved ones and the people near you. You can reach out all the way to Indonesia and give mothers & children more than a material present, you can give them save childhood and brighter future.

She chose yo support the Safe Childhood foundation and their work against Child Trafficking by donating 10% of the profit. She also created a workshop to empower women by helping them acquire new skills and receive a salary enabling them to take proper care of their children and send them to school.
Give a beautiful piece of jewelry to someone you love and future to mothers and children in Indonesia. Isn't that what Christmas magic is all about?
Hello Christina, how did the story of Ananda Soul Creations begin?
Ananda Soul Creations is the result of combining all my passions, dreams and teachings. It feels like it created itself. It made complete sense why I had been drawing, painting & sculpting my whole life, why I had gone to school for marketing & graphic design, why I had studied yoga for years and my infatuation with gemstones – it was all a preparation for the creation of Ananda and I feel so blessed to be able to pour all my love & knowledge into the brand.
What is the inspiration behind your work?
My inspiration is my on going practice to the light and spirit in everything – and to find ways to connect with it. I’ve found there are many ways to do so – by connecting with amazing people, trying out new things, travelling, designing, dancing, being in nature, .. A big way this passion has made itself visible is in the path of empowering other women, to make them feel beautiful and special and to embed that wish in the jewelry I create. Each of my Ananda Soul Creations has that prayer in it – that each person being touched by my work may be happy and reach for her dreams.
Giving back is in the core of your philosophy. Why is that important for you?
I recently saw Amma in London – and the only thing she does is hug people. And love them. I truly believe that is what the world needs – and that is what will heal all the worlds problems. We need to start looking into each others eyes, seeing each others needs, fears, and hopes – and be there for each other. There was never a question that my business would be a way for me to support this mission – giving back is my yoga, my daily reminder to stay humble and to celebrate that we are all connected.
10% of your profit goes the Safe Childhood Foundation. How did you choose this cause?
Having the honor to support a charity that empowers women and children and fights for their freedom and well-being means the world. I chose the Safe Childhoods Foundation because it is an amazing charity that works on giving children their childhood back and empowering women in the country I live in and have my business in.
Along with your charity work you have also set up an employment program for underprivileged Balinese women to give them the opportunity to provide for their children. What inspired you to dedicate so much effort to empower women and give them future?
I became aware of the problem of child-trafficking and sex-tourism early on in my stay in Indonesia. I immediately felt the strong urge to help. When I came in touch with the founder of the Safe Childhoods Foundation this urge was put into reality. They had already built a school for street children in Denpasar and realized that in order for the children to be able to go to school, the mothers needed to find an alternative way of income other than begging on the streets with their child. That is when the ‘Senang Workshop’ (senang means happy, a name the moms chose) was born – a safe space for the moms to connect, learn new skills and receive a salary.
Unlike companies working the field of fast fashion you aim to create pieces that last a lifetime by using finest quality materials. How important is sustainability for you? Do you think there’s still space for slow fashion in the society of consumerism we live in?
My higher vision is to change the fashion world – stepping away from mindless consumption that tries to fill an empty space. I wish to empower women with my creations, making them feel truly worthy and beautiful. I pour my love into these creations and they are made with absolute integrity. I feel that is the only direction we can go in – resources on this planet are limited and we need to start acting in line with that fact. Celebrating the beauty our mother earth brings about. Living in Bali you become aware that everything is an offering – Balinese people give offerings every day, continuously blessing everything in their lives – from their motorbikes to their temples and gods. Strongly influenced by the beauty of this culture each one of my creations is an offering filled with blessings for the person receiving it.
