Homemade: Spicy Baked Pumpkin
It is Sunday morning. I love early mornings. It’s quite chilly outside but not foggy and the sight is really lovely. The tree just in front of my window is still green and some birds are still there in spite of the low temperatures.
I’m sitting with my computer and a large mug of coffee. Its hot aroma is just magical in this early morning. It may sound strange to you doing it at 7.00 o`clock in the morning on a Sunday. I love it! I love knowing that I have a long, long day in front of me and this assures me that I will have enough time for my loved ones and my favorite hobbies.
But it is 7.00 o`clock now and I’m having my first coffee. It is lovely accompanied by a piece of baked pumpkin. Cinnamon and cloves are the perfect aroma combination for cold autumn and winter days. It is spicy and exotic and goes great with the pumpkin taste.
You need an average-sized pumpkin, a handful of dried fruit, a teaspoon of cinnamon, 3 cloves well ground, а spoonful of brown sugar and a little rum. Cut the pumpkin in halves, removes the seeds and fill it inside with the fruity stuff, nuts and a small glass of water. Bake it at about 180 degrees Celsius.
I used homemade dry fruits - plums, cherries, apricot and apple pieces. Homemade stuff is my favorite! You already know this I suppose :)
If you're interested I can share with you how I dry fruits at home preserving them until next summer!
