Beauty Favorites: October 2013

I haven't done a favorites post in a while but this month I have really been loving tons products. With Autumn's arrival darker smoky eyes and vampy lips become perfectly appropriate (Yes I said it!) and I have been playing with my makeup a lot, adding deep purples and greens to my routine.

I have also been enjoying cozy time at home. Tea and books are my best friends and now I have an excuse (the cold, duh) to bundle up in a blanket and spend the day in. So hot, I know! :)

War Paint: Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein - Their lives, Their times, Their rivalry by Lindy Woodhead took me quite a while to finish but I've enjoyed every minute, or should I say every page, of it. The fascinating history of the beauty industry is spiced up by the rivalry and personal affairs of the two great women that established it. If you're interested in the world of beauty you need this book!

No7 Define & Shimmer Eye Paletter (Similar colors in this Rimmel Glam Eyes Eheshadow Quad in Bold Behaviour) I don't think the palette is available in store anymore. I found it on Ebay and quickly snatched it. The quality is amazing and no, the colors are not too dark!

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Extreme wear Nail Color in Plum Power is my most worn nail polish for the last month. I would literally take it off, file my nails and paint them with it over again. It is a true plum  pearlescent color with an incredible staying power. Polishes don't usually last over two or three days on my nails but this one I wore for a week straight!

Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Combination/Oily Skin. No more shiny nose and forehead! Enough said!

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush has been my favorite one for applying my foundation for the last few months and I am not planning to change it anytime soon.

Sleek Blush in Antique & Sleek I-Divine Pallette in Vintage Romance. I know I just reviewed them last week but I actually received them in the beginning of the month and wore them almost every day! Find the review here: Beauty Review: Sleek Vintage Romance Collection

Max Factor Color Elixir Lipstick in 833 Rosewood. The Color Elixir formula is probably my favorite from the drugstore. It is so moisturizing and comfortable to wear and all the shades are extremely pigmented. Rosewood in particular is the perfect nude with pink undertones.

If I was't wearing a nude lip I would rock a dark vampy color, which is my favorite makeup trend for Autumn. Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish in Shade 1 found a permanent place in the makeup bag I carry around everywhere which only shows how much I like the color. As it has a matte finish it is a bit drying but as long as you moisturize your lips before application it's all good.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Nude is a much softer and natural version to put on the water line than straight up white. It is very soft and easy to apply without scratching or irritating the eyes and doesn't smudge at all.

When I am too lazy to apply eye shadow I often go for the Maybelline Chromatics Eyeliner in Turquoise. When I swatched it for the first time I couldn't believe how pigmented it was. It is also unbelievably soft and easy to apply and doesn't smudge! I am serious! I take it off with makeup remover for waterproof products.

Eco Tools Eye Brush Set is such a cute little set that has every brush you need to do your eye makeup perfectly!
