The Great Designers: Rossella Jardini for Moschino
Hey my loves! Today I woke up to see I have 400 followers! I can't believe the blog doubled it's size in just two months! I want to thank to every single one of you for being so supportive! You're my real inspiration and my drive to continue!
It's Wednesday today and this means it's time for a designer spotlight! Rossella Jardini was born Bergamo in 1952 and began her career selling rather than designing clothes. 1976 she met Nicola Trussardi and began assisting with the development of the clothing and leather goods lines of the company. She created her own line in 1978 and soon she met Franco Moschino. In 1981 Rossella Jardini began assisting him. Ten years later, befor his untamed death, he made it clear that he wished Jardini to take over the fashion house. She has been there ever since.
"As a creative director Rossella Jardini steered Moschino in a contemporary direction while retaining its traditional wit. Since the millennium we've seen Jardini and her team continue to tease the market through parody and stereotype, both of which are central to the original philosophy of the house." ~ Fashion Now 2
Jardini describes her work as a constant process, sometimes challenging but always very satisfactory, a work that allows you to bet on yourself and try to always do your best. Influeced by Francon Moschino and inspired by fashion icons such as Claire McCardell, Diana Vreeland and Cecil Beaton, the designer always starts working from the fabrics. Led by the principle that all that's good becomes beautiful Rosella Jardini is definitely one of the greatest designers of our times!
Here are my most favorite pieces of the Fall 2011 RTW collection! They were hard to choose because every single one is gorgeous! I love the ultra feminine shapes and the bold takeovers of the male wardrobe! If you want to see the entire line click HERE.
"My ultimate goal is always to improve the last collection."
