The Great Designers: Vera Wang
Fall is almost here! Or I hope it is... the heat outside is unbearable once again, but a girl can dream. Currently I am dreaming about layering and cozy knits, sheer dresses under warm coats, luxurious furs and and beautiful nude colors spiced up with some deep shades of red here and there. All of this can be found in Vera Wang's Fall 2011 collection! It's feminine, elegant, and stylish, everything I am aspiring for!

Vera Wang is a native New Yorker. Her career tarted at Vogue where she was a senior fashion editor for sixteen years, but left in 1985 when she was turned down for the editor-in-chef position and joined Ralph Lauren as a design director for tow years.
In 1990 she opened her own flagship salon at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City, which still exists today. Vera Wang's signature bridal collections are know for their sophisticated drama and feminine detailing. Celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Victoria Beckham, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, Jenifer Lopez, Sharon Stone, Uma Thurman, Kate Hudson, etc. The designer's incredible dresses were also featured in the iconic Sex and the City TV series.
In 2000 Vera Wang launched her first ready-to-wear collection and in 2005 was named Womenswear designer of the year" by the The Council of Fashion Designers of America. Even her RTW collections resonate the designer's luxurious approach to fashion and life, and her exquisite attention to the detail.
