The Great Designers: Christopher Bailey for Burberry
If you love Burberry as much as I do, you should most definitely read this article! I am going to tell you a little bit about the person who stays behind the impeccable designs of probably the most coveted British brand. His name is Christopher Bailey and he joined the Burberry family in 2001 as a creative director, position who made him famous for his sterling work. There he's responsible for the direction of all product lines, as well as the company's overall image and seasonal advertising concepts. Bailey's flagship collection is the forward-thinking Prorsum lines for men and women that are presented in Milan every year to consistently rave reviews from which he has banished almost every trace of the hallmark Burberry check. His eye for for clear, bright color and subtle innovations in tailoring has emerged as key to both menswear and womenswear collections. Renowned for his hands-on approach to design and an enthusiasm for the details he continues to propel Burberry into the 21st century. In acknowledgement of his many successes, the Royal College of Art awarded Bailey an Honorary Fellowship in 2003.
"Fashion is functional, practical, emotional, commercial and aesthetic." ~ Christopher Bailey
Here's the new collection. I was watching the live stream online and I absolutely loved it! It's so much more romantic and feminine than everything we've seen before, and don't even get me started on the beautiful colors!
"Listen to your heart. It's never wrong." ~ Christopher Bailey
